Accessibility testers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

Evaluating websites using specialized software to determine how easy they are to use by people with disabilities
Identifying potential problems with products or services that could cause difficulties for people with disabilities
Conducting physical tests of buildings, including evaluating stairwells, elevators, doorways, and restrooms
Identifying barriers that make it difficult for people with disabilities to use facilities such as retail stores, restaurants, banks, and concert halls
Conducting interviews with staff members who interact directly with customers to identify any problems they might have noticed that could be causing frustration or embarrassment for their customers
Suggesting ways to improve accessibility by identifying possible solutions to identified barriers
Identifying issues that could prevent people with disabilities from using certain equipment or facilities, such as equipment that is not compatible with assistive technology used by the disabled
Conducting surveys of customers to determine their satisfaction with the level of service provided by businesses
Testing websites for compliance with federal laws regarding accessibility for people with disabilities
