Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Deliver marketing projects that are integrated into an overarching project, with minimal assistance.


Monitor high-priority marketing campaigns, programs, and/or projects.


Design and maintain a favorable public image by building brand and product recognition through marketing campaigns including social media or channel marketing.


Contribute to marketing campaign and/or project planning and execution.


Contribute to marketing campaigns and/or project planning and execution, based on budget and financial ability of the host of the campaign/project.


Plan and execute prioritized project work including selecting appropriate method to achieve project objectives effectively.


Challenge


Identify and recommend creative ways to improve on solutions to defined problems via selection of better methods/tools.


Address commonly escalated issues or triage when required, in a timely manner.


Influence


Work within one or more teams to share knowledge related to a broad set of tasks.


Identify key stakeholders to build network and contribute to cross-team collaborations.


Work closely with teams to develop and influence marketing campaigns, social media strategy, and/or project strategy for their products.


Leverage existing consumer relationships and cultivate new business contacts with social teams and vendors.


Coordinate and communicate timelines, goals or objectives, priorities, and budgets for the assigned component(s) of a project. Expertise


Demonstrate working knowledge of marketing channels and campaigns, and an understanding of related areas of the Google organization, including understanding of process impacts and upstream/downstream processes and functions.


Demonstrate a proficient understanding of the client/user/partner and industry when contributing to strategic campaigns and/or project plans.


Responsibilities under the direction of Google Manager


Act as a primary client for management of all Google media planning

Act as a primary client point of contact for management of medium-scale Google media planning across and partner with global Google Media teams to ensure strategies are scaled.


Build inclusive culture

Create space in meetings, projects, events for everyone to collaborate and feel supported. Role model, acknowledge, and empower inclusive behavior and provide constructive feedback on disrespectful, non-inclusive behavior. Act as a diversity change agent, working to change processes, culture, or other barriers to inclusion.


Develop and bring marketing strategies to life

Drive the development and implementation of marketing strategies to drive business results, overseeing the positioning and development of content and marketing programs to grow awareness and engagement in key markets across social, on-network and off-network media channels.


Develop and implement social media content

Develop, implement, and analyze creative social media content, social selling programs, employee and leadership activation, and measurement strategies.


Develop communications strategy

Drive development and implementation of pioneering marketing communications strategy to drive media and public amplification across all marketing communications.


Develop promotion plan

Help develop a comprehensive internal and external promotion plan with minimal guidance that maximizes the awareness and lead generation before, during, and after each project in collaboration with growth, content, and design teams, and using digital tools such as Hubspot.


Identify marketing opportunities

Analyze and derive insights from data to uncover new marketing opportunities and audience insights.


Manage agency work

Engage and lead one or few media agencies to elevate their day-to-day work, prioritizing agency workflow as pertains to media.


Partner across groups

Partner effectively with stakeholders to ensure content and campaigns created for Google media and social channels are high-quality, reflect our voice, and represent the Google brand.

Provide thought leadership

Provide thought leadership within and outside of Google, developing points of view and standards for advertising and aligning strategic efforts and priorities amongst broader marketing efforts across Google and globally.


Track return on investment (ROI) effectiveness

Analyze, track, and report on campaign/project ROI based on predetermined pipeline, revenue, and MQL metrics using customer relationship management (CRM) system or other project management system. Track the ROI effectiveness of each activity (e.g., leads generated, deals influenced, deals closed, cost per lead). Work closely with one or more sales teams to make sure all campaigns are followed through to maximize the impact of each campaign/project.


Vendor and venue management

Develop external relationships with venues and vendors, including registration agencies or livestream platforms, contract negotiation, spatial and audiovisual (AV) planning, activation, swag, food and beverage, virtual vendors, mailer gifting, and speaker agents.

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory

Communication skills Ability to effectively communicate across audiences, situations, and contexts in both a written and oral format to effectively communicate compensation plans, policies, and practices to Googlers. This includes understanding when one's communication style needs to change or adapt to increase effectiveness and influence. Consumer behavior Understanding of consumer behavior and key audience needs. Creativity Ability to use creativity to bring a vision to life (e.g., to come up with creative ideas for project themes, unique venues, or have a motivational speaker) and give constructive creative feedback to move vision forward internally and gain stakeholder alignment. Data analysis and synthesis Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate outcomes. This includes the ability to use data to add value to marketing strategies and initiatives. Growth Understanding of strategies required to win larger market share for Marketing Specialist COE discipline, including diversification, product development, market penetration, and market development, with an understanding of how to balance short term earning and long term growth. Influencer marketing Ability to identify and engage people who have a strong influence on a key target audience to grow Google???s product or brand exposure. Media Understanding of media strategy, as used in the advertising or content delivery (online broadcasting) industries, identify concerns with how messages will be delivered to consumers or niche markets. Media placement Understanding of how to place content through various channels (e.g., TV, radio, magazines, media/social media). Negotiation skills Ability to lead and close deals favorable to Google that gain the acceptance of all parties. This includes understanding the needs, risks, and value of the deal for both parties, identifying key negotiating points and trade-offs, working with key internal stakeholders to resolve challenging deal issues, and knowing when to walk away from the deal when a viable agreement cannot be reached. Project management skills Ability to effectively prioritize work, display reasonable judgment in setting priorities, and recognizing when help is needed. This includes the ability to determine long-??term versus short-??term priorities. Search engine optimization (SEO) Ability to optimize web pages and their content to be easily discoverable by users searching for terms relevant to the website, including the improvement of unpaid results and excluding direct traffic and the purchase of paid placement. Social media Understanding of how to facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests, and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks.
