Network Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Network Monitoring: Track network health, bandwidth, and traffic using diagnostic tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. [1]

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix hardware, software, and configuration issues, acting as an escalation point for level 2/3 network problems. [1, 2]

• Security & Access Control: Maintain firewalls, VPNs, and access controls to protect sensitive company data against unauthorized access or breaches. [1, 2]

• Infrastructure Management: Install, update, and maintain network peripherals, servers, and wireless equipment across local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN). [1, 2]

• Documentation: Keep network diagrams, security policies, and incident reports up to date. [1, 2]

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing/switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), DNS, and DHCP. [1, 2]

• Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data packets and logs to conduct root-cause analysis. [1, 2]

• Familiarity with Network Tools: Hands-on experience with packet sniffers and monitoring platforms (e.g., Wireshark, Splunk, SolarWinds, or Cisco Meraki). [1, 2, 3]

• Certifications: Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred by employers to validate baseline networking knowledge.
