Network Engineer – Roles and Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

• Monitor network performance and ensure network availability and reliability.

• Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution for connectivity problems.

• Configure and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and internet connections.

• Perform network security implementation, including firewall management and access control.

• Monitor bandwidth usage and optimize network performance.

• Support network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.

• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.

• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution and hardware support.

• Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for network infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.

• Configure and support DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.

• Provide technical support to end users and internal IT teams.

• Perform regular health checks, patch updates, and preventive maintenance.

• Support cloud and data center networking environments when required.

• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for network outages.

• Maintain monitoring tools and generate network performance reports.

• Ensure smooth operation of wireless networks and remote connectivity solutions.
